Yesterday, my family of four plus my mother-in-law Gerene, sister-in-law Gisele and niece Marie experienced the Disney Phineas and Ferb Best Live Tour Ever at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, MA. We range in age from 7 to 74.
We had never been to the Tsongas Center and from the get-go we were impressed with the parking (of all things). It was just $10 to park and we were very close to the entrance.
The show begins with one of the dancers testing the crowd with some trivia questions about Phineas and Ferb. Gisele was impressed with that because she hadn’t seen the show before. She felt up-to-speed and ready for the show after that intro. Here are the characters doing one of their many song and dance routines.
The show was fantastic. None of my family had ever seen a live Disney performance. (The kids have never even been to Disney. ) What we saw far exceeded our expectations. The actors were excellent. It was a feel good show that made us stand up and dance!
The dancers “checked in” with the crowd at intermission. I was thrilled to get this picture!
I apologize about this next picture’s exposure, but I think you can see that this is Buford driving a monster truck with marshmellow tires. Of course the boys loved this part! The props were really cool. The large screen, in combination with the props and music made for a super visual experience. The stage hands did a great job – all of the transitions were very smooth.
Audience participation is always fun and these giant “golf balls” were a big hit. We just wish they reached our section, but we were too high up to touch one.
Our other favorite scenes were pants for Candice and the squirrel dance. My niece Marie, who is 15, is a fan of Perry the Platapus and his action scenes did not disappoint. You would think that a cool teenager like Marie would want to be doing anything else but sitting through a Disney production with the family, but she thought the show was a “very good, interactive, fun, energetic exiting experience!”
Grant took our picture in front of the Tsongas Center after the show. What a gorgeous day all around! The boys are in T-shirts on November 26th in New England. That’s unheard of.
This show is currently touring the US and will continue touring into 2012. Check here to see when the show is coming to your town.
Many thanks to Matt and Feld Entertainment for the tickets to the show.
