Kuerig One Touch Milk Frother Three Months to Live

Do you buy your own Christmas gifts? If you do, you’ll never be disappointed on Christmas morning. (Well, if you bought this, in a few months you might be.) This was my present to myself – The Kuerig One Touch Milk Frother. It is an item that I found at Khol’s just before Christmas. It was priced at $79.99 and I had a 30% off coupon, so (if I did my math correctly) I spent about $56.00 on this.

Kuerig One Touch Milk Frother Review

As of right this second, this product is working well and I love it. To me, my frothy milk topped flavored coffees are almost as good as a DD latte! I’ve been having these specialty drinks every day now. I also enjoy just plain steamed milk. I froth up a 1/2 cup of 2% milk, adding a little sweetener, and it’s like a treat. Those pillows of frothed up sweet milk are delish! I’ve even pulled out a spoon to scoop out that frothy goodness like it was some sort of dessert.

The unit consists of a canister, a top with wire whisk attached, and a base with a cord and three-pronged plug.  Place about 1/2 cup of milk in the unit.  There are min and max. lines to indicate how much to put in. If you go over the max. line guess what happens? The milk runeth over making a mess.  The cord on the unit is only about 30″ long which is pretty short. I would prefer if it were a tad longer.

Pour the milk in to the max. line, secure the cover and press the green button. In about one minute or so, the whirring will stop and the green light will shut off. Open the lid and volia, frothy, warm milk.

I know what your thinking. This sounds too good to be true. No one should be allowed to have this much fun on a daily basis.

Well, the party may be over. I just took a peek over at Amazon to see how many other folks were in love with this product. (Note – check reviews before purchases, not after.)

According to several reviewers over there, my days with my new bestest buddy are numbered! In about three months, I am going to roll out of bed, head over to my Kuerig One Touch and in one touch, it is going to die.

Two Amazon reviewers bought not one, not two, but THREE of these and they all broke! Ummm. Yes. Hanging your head in shame is appropriate Anne! (Anne if you are reading this, I have some items for sale you might be interested in.) Laurel? Didn’t you learn anything from Anne?

According to Anne, It froths milk for those first few months like nobody’s business, perfectly heating your milk with a snowy mountain of froth on the top – and then it stops working.

According to Laurel, Monday, the unit did not work at all; replaced it. Monday afternoon, new unit must not have heated long enough. No work. Replaced it, thinking third time’s a charm–Fool that I was. These units are definitely lemons–not charming. The third one shut off this afternoon after around 35 seconds.

According to Grant, These units have a one year warranty so you are all a bunch of ding-a-lings.

The bottom line is I  only have about 80 days left with my dear frother. Anyone want to guess when dooms day will fall?

If we make it through the 90 day trial period I will consider it a victory! I will keep you posted either way.

In the meantime, anyone know of a good frother? I may be in the market for one soon! :)

Yeah, why aren’t they using the warranty? That is silly! They may need to do some product overhauls. Perhaps they didn’t realize how often people would be using it. I have a Tassimo which does that for me right in the machine. ;)

Yeah, if it’s got a 1-year warranty and it breaks I would continually return it as many times as it breaks.

I went through 2 Keurig brewers. And I have to say, customer service was very knowledgeable and friendly. They went through extensive troubleshooting and then replaced my unit with a better one. After that one died a few months later I gave up on Keurig brewers. Just too expensive and the fact that regular maintenance includes sticking a paper clip up the spout just doesn’t seem well engineered.

Liz, another thing that other reviewers mentioned was that the machine is meant for skim milk only. I have been using 2%. I guess if I had known that, I would have thought twice about buying it. Still working today! lol!

Marina, Khol’s is pretty good. I tend to go there around Christmas time – not really any other time.

Matt, sorry to hear about your troubles with Keurig brewers. We have had ours for about two years now and haven’t had any problems. Cleaning it with a little vinegar every so often seems to do the trick. We have some pretty nasty iron-filled water too. Anyway, I love it!
