HABA Spilling Funnel Beach Sand Toy Review and Giveaway 7/23

The Haba Spilling Funnel is a unique beach sand toy made by Haba USA. The Spilling Funnel is filled with sand and water and sand creations like a sand cake and castles are made by “spilling” the contents out of the funnel.  The Spilling Funnel is available on the Maukilo website.  Maukilo features wooden, European and learning toys for children.

The Review

We had a great day at Drake’s Island Beach in Well’s, Maine  yesterday.  The kids spent a lot of the day in the water despite the water temperature being about  60 frigid degrees. The rest of their time was devoted to either digging or creating things with sand.

Included in their bucket of sand toys was the Spilling Funnel featured in this review. They were anxious it try it out. The directions were easy to follow and the funnel was easy to use. The funnel is divided into two sections – we filled the small section with water and the large section with sand.  Each had a turn (including myself) making sand creations. James made a retaining wall. Ryan made a circular structure and I attempted to write my name.  The sand spills out quickly and you stop it by blocking the flow with your fingers.  The kids enjoyed using the HABA funnel.  It will be coming with us on vacation when we spend one week in Maine in August.  I appreciate that it is small and easily packed for a day at the beach. It will keep the kids busy creating structures instead of pestering me to go in the water!
