Mediterranean Snack Food Co. Baked Lentil Chips Review & 6 Bag Giveaway 4/14

If you are on the look-out for healthy gluten-free snacks, you will like this review/giveaway for Baked Lentil Chips by the Mediterranean Snack Food Co. I have another gluten-free snack giveaway for Wellaby’s Cheese-Ups, so be sure to check that out if you haven’t already.

The Review -

I have to admit, when I imagined how these baked lentil chips would taste, I was a bit skeptical. Think about it, how tasty could “baked lentil” be?  Upon my first taste, I was pleasantly surprised! The chips are crispy and have a nice crunch. The flavor of the lentil, garbanzo and adzuki beans isn’t overpowering, it’s very subtle.

I like the texture of the chips – you can see the bubbles that formed from the baking process throughout the chips, and yet these chips are strong! (Don’t you hate it when your chip breaks right into the dip?) These are the perfect chips for dipping into hummus and the scoop-like shape is perfect for dipping.  While I like the other flavors, Sea Salt, and Sea Salt/Cracked Pepper, my personal favorite is Cucumber Dill.I like the flavor of dill and naturally fell hard for the Cucumber Dill. I don’t think I have ever come across a snack chip with this winning flavor combination.

But that’s not all! The Baked Lentil Chips are healthy too! I was just visiting the Mediterranean Snack Food Facebook Fan Page and read that compared to pita chips, the baked lentil chips are a healthier snack option. The nutritional facts say it all – 110 calories per 1 oz. serving, – 3 grams of total fat,  – 3 grams of Fiber and 4 grams of protein.  These chips are also all natural, gluten-free, vegan & Celiac friendly, gmo and trans-fat free and have 70% less fat than potato chips! Here are the ingredients:

    My favorite is the cucumber dill. I am totally not making this up. It’s really good if you dip it in roasted red pepper humus. I found these things at Global Foods.
